Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives and are made from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and Gabbeh rugs, meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, thread by thread, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, is also known for being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing heat retention.
And above all, there's its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Gabbeh rugs can be enjoyed for a long time, so why not find your own special Gabbeh?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, carefully wipe with water to remove detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

The pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
