Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with abundant oil content that allows for good body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by carefully hand-weaving this naturally dyed wool, one strand at a time, by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable, not feeling hot, in summer.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If you need to clean a stain: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Tassels can be removed before shipping.

The tassels located at the corners and middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery upon request.
Removing the tassels will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the tassels removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
