Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are long-pile rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, possesses excellent durability to withstand the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture with a high fat content that helps with temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, made from wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar cloth. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used to color the wool.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can also be removed before shipping

The pompoms located at the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
