Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. These long-pile rugs are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, developed to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If dirt is a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
