Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft texture rich in oils, which helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads one by one with this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
As these are hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
This odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If you request, the pompoms at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
