Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If dirt is a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Points to Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
Please be aware that the odor will gradually dissipate with use.

Pom-poms can be removed upon request
