Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile that is deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant feel with high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
These Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand, thread by thread, by Iranian nomads after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
Please note that this odor will gradually dissipate with use.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms on the corners or edges of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipment if requested.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pom-poms removed, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
