Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, handwoven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for effective body temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven one by one by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If you are concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being handwoven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handweaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may occur.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pompoms at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
