Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling fibers.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who carefully hand-weave each strand of this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each piece is a unique original, with no two being alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

The pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
