Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs woven by hand by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool, and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of lanolin for effective thermoregulation, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling fibers.
These wool fibers are dyed with natural dyes, and each Gabbeh is carefully hand-woven by Iranian nomads, making them characteristically plush and soft to the touch.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, indicating their exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, their artistry is remarkable. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, and each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?

Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used to color the wool.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
