Characteristics of the Region (Qum)
Qum is a renowned production area for silk rugs, to the point where the mention of silk rugs immediately brings Qum to mind. These are the finest rugs in Iran. Qum is located in northern Iran. They use silk and very high-quality soft wool. The designs are very rich. A variety of colors are used very skillfully, with pastel colors, soft colors, and ivory being commonly seen. Most of these rugs are considered works of art, often bearing the workshop's signature.
What is a Persian Rug?
A Persian rug is a rug woven in Iran. It has a long history and is famous for its beauty and durability, lasting for generations. It is one of the most outstanding artistic handicrafts representing Iranian culture and art. Due to differences in rug designs and materials used depending on the region of origin, Iran has a wide variety of rugs. These range from delicate and intricate designs woven in workshops to simple, geometric tribal rugs woven by Iranian ethnic groups. The main materials used are wool and silk. The beautiful designs and delicate color schemes of Persian rugs possess a unique charm. By incorporating a Persian rug with its unique, one-of-a-kind charm into your room, you can enhance its atmosphere even further.
Daily Care (Silk)
Vacuum along the pile to remove dust from the surface. If you spill liquids, first absorb the moisture with an absorbent material (such as kitchen paper or tissue). Then, place a dry towel under the rug and gently dab the stain with a tightly wrung cloth dampened with water and a neutral detergent. Finally, remove as much moisture as possible with an absorbent material and hang the rug in a well-ventilated area to dry.
Please Note
As these are hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of a hand-woven piece.
