Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadically herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. The Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each piece is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be placed on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can also be removed for shipping

The pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
