Features of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-knotted rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-knotted by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from the harsh temperature differences between day and night, are also known for being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And, of course, there's their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created by nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Gabbeh rugs are made to last; why not find your own special Gabbeh?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-knotted, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-knotted item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may occur.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of it beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed upon request

The pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping if you request it.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us by email or phone below.
