Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomadic herders in Iran's Zagros Mountains. They are long-pile rugs made from plant-dyed wool, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Varietal, possesses excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of lanolin, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture that helps regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand, strand by strand, by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated shade.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dyes may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed upon shipment

The pom-poms on the corners and edges of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
