Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs made from plant-dyed wool, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as soft, pleasant-to-the-touch fibers rich in oil to effectively regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, thread by thread, with naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, giving a sensation of coolness.
And, of course, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and color variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used for the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
