Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs

Daily Care

Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving unevenness, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used for the wool may occur. The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment. Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
