Characteristics of the Region (Varamin)

Varamin is located near Tehran, the capital of Iran, and has historically been connected by the Silk Road. In Varamin, where diverse ethnic groups and races reside, traditional hand-woven "kilims" are particularly famous. The use of color in Varamin kilims has changed over time; older pieces often feature vibrant hues, while more recent ones tend to use calmer, darker shades. While various patterns exist in the designs, the geometric pattern known as "Cheshm Gir" is particularly characteristic of this region. Wool is the primary material, but some kilims also incorporate cotton, creating variations in texture and feel.

What is a Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular traditional hand-woven textiles that grow more beautiful with age. Depending on when they were woven, they are referred to as vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims, and are beloved by people of all ages. While most kilims are made of wool, some are also produced using cotton or silk. Natural materials are used. Since natural dyes are also used for coloring, you can use them with peace of mind. These hand-woven kilims are durably woven and based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups, known as tribal rugs. They feature geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, with each kilim having its own unique design.
Various ethnic groups inhabit the vast land of Iran. Each region has distinct design and color characteristics, allowing you to enjoy a diverse range of patterns.

Other Uses for Kilims

Kilims are not simply used as rugs or floor coverings, but are also widely utilized as decorative items for walls, sofas, tables, beds, and other interior elements. Their unique designs and colors are distinctive, and they are often used as accents in a room. Kilims are not just decorations; they are important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to the living space. By incorporating kilims, you can enjoy a life surrounded by art and comfort, and a life surrounded by things you love.

Kilims and Interior Design

Kilims offer great flexibility in how they can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, introducing the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space adds an accent. For natural or Scandinavian interiors, combining them with wooden furniture, plants, or other natural materials can enhance the kilim's warmth and natural ambiance. They also pair well with a bohemian aesthetic; placing them on the floor or hanging them on a wall elevates the overall feel of the room. Kilims have an ethnic and tribal feel, making them a good match for interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, Morocco, and other regions. By using them as tapestries or cushions, you can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If concerned about stains, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, or dyeing inconsistencies. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
