Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are deeply rooted in daily life, made from plant-dyed wool with a long pile. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product, native to the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possesses excellent durability and a soft texture rich in oils, allowing for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously one by one by Iranian nomads using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Created in a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there is their artistic nature. Gabbeh rugs, creatively designed by nomads, often feature animal and plant motifs, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, a piece you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping
The pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish for your order to be shipped without pompoms, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
