Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs are characterized by their fluffy, pleasant feel, as they are hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads using wool dyed with natural dyes.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting outstanding durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing you from feeling hot.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape or pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
Please note that the odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.

Tassels can be removed before shipping.

The tassels attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the tassels will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
