Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs, deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads, who weave them by hand using vegetable-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of lanolin, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture that helps regulate body temperature.
The Gabbeh, woven thread by thread by Iranian nomads after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, is characterized by its fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.

Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye variations. Please consider these as part of the unique charm of a hand-woven piece.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Consequently, there may be a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool.
While the odor will gradually dissipate with use, we kindly ask for your understanding in advance.
