Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven, long-piled rugs, dyed with natural plant dyes, and made from sheep's wool by the Qashqai nomads inhabiting the Zagros Mountains in Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture is due to its high oil content, which helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, one thread at a time, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also known for being warm in winter and breathable, not feeling hot, in summer.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique original.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If cleaning is needed: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present.
This scent will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

The pompoms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
