This is a Persian hand-woven Gabbeh rug, custom-made to our special order size to suit Japanese lifestyles.
It's the perfect size for an entrance mat, brightening up the entryway you use every day.
Besides the entryway, its versatile size makes it easy to place in various empty spaces, such as in front of a washbasin, on a balcony, or beside a bed.
It is soft, plush, and features a pleasant texture that can be enjoyed all year round.
As a unique, hand-woven piece, please enjoy its one-of-a-kind design.
This particular Gabbeh is woven with fine threads; because it requires more effort to weave, it is a Luri-baft Gabbeh, which is thinner and more densely woven than regular Gabbeh rugs.
Luri means "fine" and baft means "weave" in Persian.

Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads living in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of lanolin for effective thermoregulation, resulting in soft and pleasant-to-the-touch fibers.
Gabbeh rugs, handcrafted by Iranian nomads who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously weave each strand by hand, are characterized by their plush and delightful texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool's dye may be present.
While the scent will gradually dissipate with use, we ask for your understanding in advance.
