Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai nomads who wander the Zagros Mountains in Iran, deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Varied wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who hand-dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously weave each strand, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, demonstrating its superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing you from feeling hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created by the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Gabbeh rugs can be used for a long time, so why not find your own special Gabbeh?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
