Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing heat buildup.
And, above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but can also be displayed on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, one that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
