Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of natural oil to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, woven with this wool dyed with natural dyes by Iranian nomads, meticulously by hand, thread by thread, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Gabbeh rugs, born from the drastic temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomadic people, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a Gabbeh that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth or towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
