Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. Rooted in daily life, the Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, allowing for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who carefully hand-weave each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be placed on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care Instructions
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, as well as weaving and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Tassels can be removed upon request

The tassels attached to the corners or sides of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before shipping upon your request.
Removing the tassels does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
If you would like your order shipped without tassels, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
