Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant feel, rich in oil to effectively regulate body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, made by carefully hand-weaving this naturally dyed wool one by one by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture. A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, demonstrating its exceptional durability. Gabbeh, born from a climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer. And above all, its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original and unique item. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time? Daily Care Use a vacuum cleaner or broom to remove dust and debris along the direction of the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area. Important Notes Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortions, weaving inconsistencies, and dye irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dye may occur. This odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance. Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery upon request. Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
