Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, nomadic people in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are long-pile rugs made from plant-dyed wool, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, is derived from sheep that survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains. This wool boasts excellent durability and a soft, pleasant texture, containing abundant lanolin for effective thermoregulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, crafted from wool dyed with natural pigments and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be hung on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, one that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a distinctive odor from the wool dyes.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request for shipping

If you prefer, we can remove the pom-poms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh rug before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively impact the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
If you would like the pom-poms removed for shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
