Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads, who hand-weave them from vegetable-dyed wool while nomadic in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven, one thread at a time, by Iranian nomads using naturally dyed wool, resulting in a plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their durability, said to last up to 100 years.
Originating from a climate with significant diurnal temperature fluctuations, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Consequently, a distinct odor from the dye used for the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
