Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their lifestyle. The "Persia Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture rich in natural oils, allowing for effective temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who meticulously hand-weave each strand of this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and delightful feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for up to 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, offering a cool sensation.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, a piece you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dye may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
