Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads, who hand-weave them using naturally dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, along with a soft, pleasant texture rich in oils that effectively regulates body temperature.
These wools are dyed with natural dyes, and each Gabbeh rug is carefully hand-woven by Iranian nomads, resulting in a plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be hung on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique scent from the wool dye.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
