Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs that are deeply rooted in their daily lives. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap of the rug.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

As these are hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dye. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool's dye may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
