Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, everyday carpets hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads by hand, strand by strand, from wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, showcasing its superior durability.
Originating from an environment with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, a piece you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please appreciate these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Tassels can be removed before shipping.

The tassels on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the tassels does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the tassels removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
