Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs deeply rooted in daily life, made by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
These Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads with wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be hung on a wall.
Why not find a Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever, a special one just for you?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, sweeping along the nap.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape or pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
