Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are deeply ingrained in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, is derived from sheep that have adapted to the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possessing excellent durability and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content to regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively crafted by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original work of art.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, one that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request.

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery upon your request.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
