This particular Gabbeh is woven with fine threads. While it requires more effort to weave, it results in a Lizebaf Gabbeh, which has less thickness and a tighter weave than regular Gabbeh.
"Lize" means "fine" and "baf" means "weave" in Persian.

Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are long-pile rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool, deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is exceptionally durable, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of lanolin, making it soft and pleasant to the touch for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for up to 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing them from feeling hot.
And, above all, there is their artistry. The Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Vacuum or sweep along the pile to remove dust and debris.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to their hand-woven nature, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please appreciate these as part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
