Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a high amount of oil to effectively regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads thread by thread with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a comfortable coolness. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be placed on the floor or even hung on the wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dye used for the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery. Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
