This is a standard Japanese entrance mat size. It will brighten up your entryway, which you pass through every day. In addition to entryways, it's a convenient size to lay in empty spaces such as in front of washbasins or balconies, or by the bedside. This Gabbeh is woven with fine threads, and while it takes more effort to weave, it is a Luri-baf Gabbeh, which is thinner and has a tighter weave than regular Gabbeh. "Luri" means "fine" in Persian, and "baf" means "weave."

Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh is a long-pile rug woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool as part of their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture, rich in natural oils, allows for effective temperature regulation. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years. Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool even in hot weather. And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. How about finding your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur. The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping
