Features of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed wool with a long pile. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for effective body temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
These Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads with naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their soft and fluffy texture.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And of course, there's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being an original and unique piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the nap of the rug.
If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used to color the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
