Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomadic tribe, who hand-weave them from plant-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, allows for effective temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh are hand-woven with care by Iranian nomads, one thread at a time, using naturally dyed wool, resulting in a fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme day-night temperature differences, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feel.
And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each piece is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a wet cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Tassels can be removed upon shipment
The tassels attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the tassels will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
