Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomadic people in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads by hand, strand by strand, using this naturally dyed wool, is characterized by its fluffy and pleasant texture.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from the climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and not feeling hot in summer.
And above all, its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often features designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
It can be laid on the floor or even displayed on the wall as art.
How about finding your own special Gabbeh that you can enjoy for a long time?
