Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads living in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content that helps regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed for shipping

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
