Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadicize the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand, one by one, by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Born from the climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If you are concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used to color the wool.
Please understand that the smell will gradually dissipate with use.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

If requested, the pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
