Characteristics of the Region (Varamin)

Varamin is located near Tehran, the capital of Iran, and is a region historically connected by the Silk Road. Varamin, where diverse ethnic groups and races live, is particularly famous for its traditional handwoven "kilims." The color usage in Varamin kilims has changed over time; older pieces often feature vibrant hues, while more recent ones tend to use calmer, darker colors. While various patterns exist in the designs, geometric patterns known as "Cheshm Gir" are particularly characteristic of this region. The primary material is wool, but some kilims also incorporate cotton, creating variations in texture and feel.

What is a Kilim?

Persian handwoven kilims are globally popular traditional handwoven textiles that gain more character the more they are used. Depending on the age they were woven, they are called vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims, and are loved by people of all ages. Most kilims are made of wool, but some are also produced using cotton or silk. They use natural materials. Since natural dyes are also used for coloring, you can use them with peace of mind. These handwoven kilims are durably woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups, known as tribal rugs. They feature geometric patterns with motifs of nature and animals, and each kilim has a unique design.
Various ethnic groups live across the vast land of Iran. Each region has distinct design and color characteristics, allowing you to enjoy a wide range of design patterns.

Other Uses for Kilims

Kilims are not only used as simple carpets or rugs but are also widely used as decorative items on walls, or as part of other interior elements such as sofas, tables, and beds. Their distinctive designs and colors are characteristic features, often utilized to accent a room. Kilims are not merely decorative items but are positioned as important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to the space. By utilizing kilims, you can create a life with art and comfort, and enjoy a life surrounded by things you love.

Kilims and Interior Design

Kilims offer great flexibility in how they can be incorporated into various interior design styles. In modern interiors, introducing the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space can add an accent. For natural or Scandinavian interiors, combining kilims with wooden furniture, plants, or other natural materials can enhance their warmth and natural ambiance. They also pair well with a Bohemian aesthetic; laying them on the floor or hanging them on a wall can elevate the overall atmosphere of a room. Kilims have an ethnic design and tribal feel, making them a good match for interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, or Morocco. Arranging them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If stains are a concern, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, thoroughly wipe with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being handwoven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, or dyeing unevenness. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of a handwoven item.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
