Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture containing a lot of oil for efficient body temperature regulation.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

As these are hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, dyeing irregularities, etc. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used to color the wool.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
