Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing it to withstand the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture due to the high oil content that helps regulate body temperature. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.

For noticeable stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

If you request, the pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.

Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
