Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made by dyeing such wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing heat.
And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original, one-of-a-kind item.
