Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads who herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are made from naturally dyed wool and are an integral part of their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product, native to the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possesses excellent durability and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps with body temperature regulation.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
Please note that this odor will gradually dissipate with use.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
