Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them from plant-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which comes from the high oil content that helps regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh, made by nomads in Iran who dye the wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the nomads' imaginations, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?

Important Notes

Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
