Gabbeh are long-pile rugs, rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is rich in oils to effectively regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used for the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed upon shipment

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed and shipped upon request.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
